October was a month packed with great shows, which led me to come up with with a top 3 including Taylan Alan, Gamma Intel and Mozaieka, who all deserve to be get a staff picks shoutout from me! Taylan came played a show for ‘Eiland Gasten’ and brought some crazy tunes with a lot of percussion throughout his set. He started off with half an hour of world music before changing to more sturdy house tracks and ending with a dope hip hop track. Cool selection and sick mixing throughout.

Gamma Intel was playing a totally different set. This set, at 110 bpm, was a dark train making his way through the container. Besides a DJ, Gamma Intel is also a producer you should keep an eye on. In his set he played a track of his new EP Drama in Decay coming out in November on BroknToys. Must have! The show I finally picked for Staff Picks, is the Tutti Frutti show by Mozaieka. He said before his show he’d like to play some house tracks in his first Tutti Frutti show. After his set we chatted and concluded that this set didn’t have a lot of house tracks in it. He played some ambient, mellow beats, boogie, italian disco and a lot of other stuff.

I can say Mozaieka came with a great variety of tracks, but they all fitted so well together. Not only his choice of tunes impressed me, but also the overall course of his set. He started of from zero with bird sounds, built up slowly but really nicely to a brief party part and then gently brought it down, back to the bird sounds. It sounded so well thought off, while he only knew how he wanted to start off.
