Uncle George Electronics

genres: house disco

Rotterdam native Uncle George Electronics (UGE) formerly known as ‘Kaitjily’, has been active in the local Rotterdam music scene for over 10 years. Playing every venue from RnB to Garage to House and Techno nights. His broad glitchy way of selection with different beats and tempo’s feels like a direct reflection of his upbringing in Rotterdam. A multicultural hub with many different sounds.UGE started his own club nights (2013/2014) called ‘Rocket-Science’ with his friend Naod at Bird-Jazz Cafe 2013/2014. With names like FKJ, Bondax and Zed Bias. After this he became a resident/programmer at a night called ‘CHIPS’ at ‘BAR’ Rotterdam. Here he played every week in the basement with his fellow 2 friends called ‘Beau Zwart’ and ‘Vincent Boy Kars’.As one of Operator’s first interns and one of the founding fathers of ‘nofriends’. Uncle George has become part of a select group of Rotterdam’s most experimental producers and DJs. Inspired by labels like Brainfeeder, Warp, CPU, Hyperdub, XL Recordings, etc. Uncle George Electronics strives for a more complex and uncommon club sound. A combination of sounds where bass music, Jazz rhythms, Lush synths, complex breaks, and heavy sound design meet at the core of his mixes. Having produced music for quite some time now. His first album is set to release in 2023. With events in Mono, Worm, and Weelde. His collective is taking Rotterdam by storm. Trying to push the boundaries of futuristic visuals and sounds. Now music programmer at local music/arts festival ‘MOMO’. UGE try’s to give the broader of Rotterdam a taste of the strange sounds they deserve.
